Fall 2024 Mini Forest School Session

Enrollment Closed

Mini Forest School is a hybrid between our regular Forest School and our Co-op programs. Parents stay for the entire program but lessons are provided by a teacher. This group will meet Thursdays mornings for 4 week sessions.

  • Target age range is 2.5-6
  • Our lessons are nature-focused and followed by free play in the woods
  • We meet in ALL weather and are outside for the duration of the meeting, unless conditions are deemed unsafe. Participating families should be prepared to show up for meetings in the rain, heat, cold and snow!
  • The parent’s role in this program is to safely support their child’s exploration and learning. We encourage parents to be “co-learners” with the children and demonstrate a desire to learn and willingness to be outdoors (even in the rain or cold). At the same time, we also encourage parents to step back and let their children learn to safely manage their own risks and conflicts

Forest School Co-op

Not currently Enrolling

Forest School Co-op is a parent-led, outdoor program for ages 2.5-6. This is a small group program with a focus on unstructured outdoor play and seasonal learning provocations. Children will have the opportunity to move, create, problem solve, imagine and learn in a mixed-age, outdoor setting. Participating families will take turns creating and leading a short nature-based lesson at each meeting.

Wondering if this co-op is right for your family? A few things to consider:

  • We meet in ALL weather and are outside for the duration of the meeting, unless conditions are deemed unsafe. Participating families should be prepared to show up for meetings in the rain, heat, cold and snow!
  • Meetings are 2-3 hours long, 1 day per week.
  • We believe that young kids learn best through unstructured play. While we will offer seasonal learning opportunities, this co-op is not academically focused.
  • We encourage families to let their children learn to manage risks by engaging in risky play.
  • Parents and caregivers should be willing and able to follow their child into the woods as needed.

This Co-op is currently invitation-only. If you are interested in joining, please fill out the interest form to be contacted when spaces open up.
